The owner of the company – Nikola Kralev, proud father of two, has rich experience in construction from a very early age. He started doing renovations when he was 7, as paint works, carpentry and fixing walls (which he had broken). As a second-generation handyman, he had access to tools from early in life and his father first taught him how to use them. He remembers using power tools at the age of 8, no joke! He grew up with all kind of tools in hand, which developed his talent to seek and find solutions for any kind of technical problems. Later this became his passion.

When he was 6, his family started building a 400 m2 self-standing house. Unfortunately, when political changes swept the country at the end of 80’s with the collapse of the Soviet Union, the money saved lost its value and continuing construction works became very difficult. The family were forced to do the majority of the work themselves. For the next 15 years Nikola was part of the construction efforts without much choice. This was the best school, better than any university. He learned how to do massive brick walls, RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete) structures, drywall, insulation, electricity, flooring, painting and much more. The most important skill he earned was patience – nothing is too difficult and there is always a proper solution for any kind of problem. Meanwhile he managed to finish his secondary education as a Chef and after that graduated Agricultural University with a Master’s Degree in Bioscience Engineering and chemical protection of plants.

Through the years Nikola worked as a Chef, mechanic in a garage and even professional Ebay seller. Nevertheless, he always had a dream to own a small company and help people with his technical talent. When he moved to Belgium in 2019 to help his beautiful wife pursue a PhD in Mathematics, he took one step closer for his dream to become a reality. Four years later, in the beginning of 2023, he registered Mr. Fixit as a self-standing company. Quickly he made a name for himself as a talented handyman who works well and clean with a good eye for detail.
